Council Member Barbara Hartwell

Council Member Barbara Hartwell has served the Town of Star Valley since 2005, when she began serving on the Diamond Star Water Coalition. In 2008, Barbara was elected to the Town Council.

Barbara was born in El Centro, California and moved to San Diego in 1958. She began a 30 year career in accounting until 2007, when she closed her tax and accounting business.

Barbara’s accounting background has been invaluable to the Town’s Budget Committee and the Board of Adjustments, which she has served on since the Town’s incorporation. Additionally, Barbara serves as a liaison between the Water & Sewer Commission and the Town Council.

“I always wanted to retire in the high country and Star Valley has enabled me to do so. I want to help Star Valley grow as a Town and yet preserve the beautiful, rural atmosphere that we have and love.” Barbara stated that she pledges her time and efforts to the Town and her constituents.

Barbara is the proud mother of 4 daughters, 9 grandchildren and 8 greatgrand children. She also enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking and crafting projects. Council Member Hartwell is a strong voice on the Town Council and is highly regarded by her fellow Council Members and citizens alike. Hats off to this dedicated lady and advocate of Star Valley.
