Paty Henderson was born at Mesa Southside Hospital in the middle of the last century. Her grandmother was also born in Mesa at the beginning of that same century. A doctor named George P. Hunt delivered her (the first governor of the state).

Henderson moved to Rim Country in the early 70s, but had been visiting long before the Beeline was paved, exploring the area with her parents her and grandmother’s cousins who lived here.

Henderson has worked for the Payson Unified School District and was an assistant editor for the Rim Country Gazette before deciding to run for Star Valley town council. Her father, the late county supervisor, Jim Jones, firmly believed that a person should work to “pay back the community.” That influenced her choice to participate in government.

She actively took part and volunteered in many Rim Country Organizations such as the Gila County Fair, the Northern Gila County Genealogy Society, and most recently has co-founded a Daughters of Scotia Chapter (Monarch of the Glen) which is a fraternal order for women of Scottish descent or married to a man of Scottish descent. She is an ardent supporter of the food drive and education for our youth.

Henderson is liaison from the town of Star Valley to the Payson Area Advisory Youth Council and the Chamber of Commerce.

It is her belief that working with the town of Payson benefits the citizens of Star Valley by promoting a strong economy and cooperation on community projects that improve the lives of all.
